Services

We work hard to make sure that your evaluation and progression into auditory assistance is met with compassion and informed guidance. Our services for pediatrics to geriatrics include, but are not limited to:

Hearing Evaluations
We specialize in complete audiological evaluations for adults, children and infants with hearing testing and tympanometry. Our offices are equipped with a state-of-the-art sound-treated booth to assure test accuracy. We strive to effectively communicate your results and the most appropriate course of action once your evaluation is complete.

Hearing Tools & Custom Earpieces
Our staff can match you to the perfect hearing tool that fits your cosmetic and budget preferences. Selective Hearing works with several manufacturers and has access to the latest technology advancements, so that we can give you the most options for your hearing device needs.
We can also create custom swim molds, musician’s plugs, hunting plugs, noise protectors and ear molds for cell phones.

Evaluation & Treatment of Vertigo
Selective Hearing specializes in the evaluation and treatment of vertigo and balance disorders. We use video nystagmography to diagnose inner ear issues that cause vertigo.

Tinnitus Evaluation & Treatment
Our staff can conduct specialized testing to assess tinnitus (ringing in the ears). We can also prescribe different methodologies or coping mechanisms to alleviate both intermittent and constant tinnitus.

Assistive Listening Devices
We offer instruments used with or without hearing aids to help reduce background noise and help the hearing-impaired. These include: TV ears, amplified telephones, FM systems, vibrating alarm clocks and strobe light smoke alarms.

Auditory Brainstem Response Testing
An Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) is a specialized subjective test used to further assess hearing loss type and degree. Additionally, it is used to rule out brain stem pathology, which is useful in treating infants or those unable to verbalize a response.

Otoacoustic Emission
Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) is another specialized subjective test that examines the response of the cochlea. This simple and noninvasive test is effective in assessing possible hearing loss in young children or other patients.

Central Auditory Processing Disorder Evaluations
Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) is a complex problem in which auditory information is not processed in the “normal” way resulting in a difficulty understanding speech in less than optimal conditions. Testing includes evaluation of binaural integration, binaural separation, auditory figure-ground discrimination, auditory closure, temporal patterning, and supplemental information on auditory memory, sequencing and attention.
